Castel Brando

I know, I know! It's been a long time since I put anything new on here! Well, unfortunately, we've been busy and haven't been doing as much travelling. Our old cat, Sterling, got very ill and I had to baby him and provide almost round-the-clock care for about 6 weeks until we finally had to put him to sleep, poor baby. We miss him terribly! Work is always busy for Bryan, but the kids and I have also been busy rehearsing for a play we will be in, in March. Stay tuned for pics of that!

Anyway, at least I got away for one night with some girlfriends to a castle! Laura and I helped our friend Camille celebrate her birthday at Castel Brando, about 45 minutes away. Here are Laura and Camille...

It's in the main region for Prosecco grape growing, but winter is just not as gorgeous as spring or summer when it's all green with the gravevines. We got a light dusting of snow while we were there.

It was the best 24 hours of eating I have had in Italy so far! We had lunch at a really nice restaurant in Valdobbiadene and dinner and breakfast at the castle. It was all amazing food! We spent the afternoon tasting Prosecco at a winery, soaking in the waters of the castle spa, and shopping! Then we stayed up into the wee hours talking! What a wonderful getaway with miei amici!
